    Old Growth Swamp Kauri Rare Exotic Wood

    !! Also known as Ancient Kauri. The wood is rough sawn at 1" thick x 12" wide x 64" long.  Has saw marks and a few checks.  The wood has been washed with water to show off grain. Lightly sanded on one side with 80 grit sandpaper.
    Comes with a certificate numbered to the board. The lumber company has radiocarbon dated the wood with an independent
    licensed
    organization such as the
    Beta Analytic Inc. of Maimi, FL, a leading laboratory for dating analyses.
    This is the world's oldest workable wood not petrified. Kauri is a softwood. This lumber came from wood buried in the earth in peat swamps from the North Island of New Zealand. Very rare and hard to come by. Great for guitars, small clocks, jewelry boxes, game boards...the possibilities are endless and make for fantastic heirlooms. This wood has a story to tell.
