Real Bone African FOREST GIANT SQUIRREL Skull Animal Rodent Mammal Taxidermy

A real Bone Skull of an African FOREST GIANT SQUIRREL  (
Protoxerus stangeri
).  The skull was beetle cleaned and whitened and degreased with strong peroxide.  The skull is complete with full dentition and exhibits no damage that I can see.  Please note there may be imperfections/flaws that I cannot see as this was once a living thing, and living things rarely show perfection in death. That being said, this is a very nice example of the species for a hands on model in education or for collection.  The skull measures almost 3 inches in length, making it one of the largest squirrel skulls you will find!  It is an older skull, has a bit of yellowing and the nasals were glued into place, which is a bit noticeable, but no damage--just age.  These are a very unusual species of animal to find, I have never seen them offered from anyone other than myself, and are a really nice specimen to have. This is a very sturdy skull and a great addition for collectors.
PLEASE NOTE:  This species is not CITES listed, nor a part of the endangered species list; furthermore it was not taken specifically for its skull, but is a by-product of a deceased animal.  This means it is completely legal to own and sell within the United States.
