Rare Black Phase Muskrat Swimming Taxidermy

Up for auction is a really beautiful and rare color phase muskrat. Most muskrats are a brownish type color, but in certain parts of the country you can get into what is called a Black Muskrat. They are rare, but Black Muskrats have very lush dark black fur, typically with brown tips. This muskrat is a great example of that with an extremely soft black coat.
This rat is in great condition overall. He had a scar to his lower chin but it has been repaired and is essentially unnoticeable. You can see the area in the picture above focusing on the lower chin but I doubt you will be able to see anything, as the scar repaired very well.  This mount also utilized the real tail of the muskrat. Most of the mounts out today use artificial tales because they save time and are much easier to work with. But I think those look unrealistic and so extra time was taken to preserve the muskrats real tail.
He is fastened via a ghost hanger to a 12" piece of driftwood. He measures around 11 inches long, and 20.5 inches in height.  The mount weights around 2lb. 1oz.
These black phase muskrats are rarely seen so don't miss out on a rare piece.
