The KIKU Silver 8" Bonsai Wire Cutter features Japanese black alloy steel.  Japanese alloy steel is easy to sharpen and is the most common type of bonsai tool on the market.  The Silver series brings you a high quality and long lifed tool at an excellent price.
Wire cutters are used to cut wire in several situations.  The blunt nose of the cutter allows you to cut wire that is against a branch while not harming the branch.  You can also cut your wire from the coil while wiring.  No tool can replace wire cutters and they should be one of the first tools in your tool collection.
The 8" size is for standard use.  These cutters are made to cut #24 - #8 copper wire and all aluminum wire.
