    Description

Approx. 3 board feet of Genuine Honduran Rosewood (dalbergia stevensonii) lumber (17 lb. minimum per box).
This batch of rosewood was originally produced in 2007 for the production of marimba bars. Honduran rosewood is the premier species for tonal performance of marimba bars. These pieces are the natural "off fall" from the production of perfectly quartered blanks required by the marimba manufacturer. These pieces, while nearly perfectly clear, do not have the required 90 degree/quartersawn grain orientation (in fact, some are even flatsawn). The pieces have been surfaced and vary in thickness from  slightly over/under one inch thick , They are approx. 3.0 in. wide all and all are slightly over/under 13.5 inches long.
Picture is of a sample box of pieces spread out. Pic 1 is one face, Pic 2 is the opposing faces of the same pieces. Even though the photos are a sample, the pieces are all very nice, (see photos). The only losses should be for final sizing. Nearly all of the defects normally associated with rosewood lumber have been trimmed from these pieces.
The photos are a critical part of the description.
The boxes weigh approx. 17 pounds, varying mostly due to the assortment of thicknesses in each different box. Honduran rosewood weighs 5.4 lbs/ per bf. ft.
