Say hello to the Surinam toad, everybody's favorite trypophobia trigger! They're best known for their weird reproductive habits. During amplexus, the male's movements push the female's eggs under her skin, where they incubate, metamorphose and wiggle out of their mom's skin as fully developed toads.
You'd think this would stress out mom, but look at the smile on her face.
Acquisition of real Surinam toads isn't feasible, so cheerfully standing in for the Surinam toad in this piece is an American bullfrog, good ol' Rana catesbeiana.
