This is an AMAZING vintage Red Fox real animal mount. This is so well done, that I wasn’t going to sell it, I was going to put it in our cabin. But, twin new babies make you do silly things, so it’s up for auction!
This is a an American Red Fox. The origins are unknown, as is who performed the professional taxidermy. This was part of a large collection and we were lucky to get this piece. It is a beautiful laying position with its head alert. The fur is amazing and in excellent condition. There is some fur issues on the back of the tops of the ears, which is typical for vintage mounts. This can be remedied easily, but I am leaving that to you, so you get the exact desired effect. Personally, I wouldn’t even change it. It looks great how it is. I did although take detailed photos from every angle so you could see the condition for yourself.
This would be an amazing addition to anyone’s wilderness collection or an excellent first piece. The colors are bright and the fur is full.
In its mounted form, from the base of the mount to the top of the ears, it measures 15”. The mount base width is 30” and the mount base depth is 23”. The Fox itself is a good size, it is a large Fox.
