Description
2001 AM General M1045A2 HMMWV H1 HummerUp for sale is my American General M1045A2 Factory Slantback with approximately 4,000 miles
I bought this truck on 11/1/2017 through IronPlanet, from the Albany, Georgia US Marine Corps Logistics Base, where my buddy was stationed and working.
The truck is in great shape with many new parts, USGI surplus to the greatest extent possible. The truck has proven to be reliable on longer road trips and in city driving without issue. I have driven the truck on several 1-1/2+ hour road trips across the state of Georgia at a continuous 70+ mph with minimal driver input. I work in Atlanta and drive the truck to the office in the summer heat through hectic rush hour. The truck is stored in a garage when not driven and has only been in the rain a couple times, since my ownership.
The truck interior “smells” new due to NOS MRAP high back seats and NOS insulation. Prior to reinstalling the seats and thermal insulation, rubberized self-adhering sound deadening material was installed. The turret plate was removed, resealed, and reinstalled and the gunner platform removed. “Military looking” overhead and on-tunnel consoles were fabricated and installed, which include toggle switches, VIC-1 radio control boxes and headsets, Bluetooth stereo controller and speakers (overhead) and storage, ammo box openings, 12V and USB power receptacles (on-tunnel). The truck rides on 20” Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 wheels and Toyo Open Country tires.

If you haven’t checked recent surplus government auctions, HMMWV prices have risen considerably, including many trucks that are missing major components and/ or not running. While decent trucks are still headed to auction, recent M1045A2 sales for "better" trucks include: a 2002 for ,800, a 2003 for ,200, and a 2002 for ,800 without taxes and fee. All three were "missing" K+ of doors. Plus, auction buyers need to consider potentially purchasing a surety bond and titling costs. The cost to purchase an auction truck, add doors, and get it ready for the street could top K.
I don’t believe you could buy and build a similar truck for the cost of this listing, especially when you add the upgrades, improvements, NOS/ new parts, labor, and thousands of dollars in additional parts and pieces that are included.
This is my personal truck and it’s driven almost weekly, so actual
mileage
and hours will change. The above
mileage
is accurate (to the best of my knowledge) at the time of listing. All statements are made with the knowledge that I have been provided and what I have observed since purchase. There is no guarantee to the vehicle’s actual miles, hours, condition, or fitness of use.
